logo_hourtown-outside.gifEveryone loves the convenience of ordering their favorite books, clothes, toys and a zillion other products online.  But, what if your business doesn't sell a product?  What about online ordering for the typical service business?  This is where HourTown comes in.  Here is how they describe their service:

HourTown is the most intelligent way for small business owners to schedule their customers and market their services online. There are literally thousands of software solutions to help a person sell a physical product from their website, but what if the "product" you're selling is your time? HourTown's patent-pending online scheduling system promotes blocks of time as if they were products in an online storefront. Customers select the service they are interested in, see what times are available and book the time they want. The business owner is notified instantly by email and then chooses to accept the booking or suggest an alternative time.
This could be extremely convenient for customers.  For example, we have dogs so we'll periodically have our carpets cleaned.  We use the same company and have the same service performed each time so there really is no reason for me to have to call and schedule an appointment.  I could use this to lock in my appointment even if it's 2 am when I realize the carpets are looking a bit rough.
