Please Don't Fall for These SEO Scams

Another day, another stupid email promising exciting "exclusive technology" to get top rank for your site in Google and Yahoo.  Two quick points:

1. Don't fall for this garbage, it's a con.

2. Please understand these are NOT SEOs, these are con artists.  Legitimate SEOs don't make these types of ridiculous promises that prey on the ignorance of people who are new to all of this.

You'll notice at the end of this email they tell us "Examples/Demos will be provided."  That's usually a tip off that they distribute a toolbar that alters the organic search results the toolbar users see.  They'll have you download the toolbar and voila, you'll see your site at the top of the search results.  It's a trick, don't fall for it.

So, if anything like this arrives via email, postal mail or phone call, trash it:

Interesting. I didn't realize there were so many scams out there. I guess it makes sense that they'd be in this industry too. Why not? They're rampant in every other industry. Thanks. :)
